This job began with a brief from the client to turn an un-useable area into a place to entertain guests and have an outlook into the valley below. We agreed on some slate crazy paving and a nice level area to expand on later. After bringing in a whole lot of fill and compacting a whole lot of road base, we moved on to laying the stone. Once this was completed we added the balustrading with some Tassie Oak timber handrail and stainless wire. We were able to create a very functional area that will be a great place to entertain for years to come. |

This project started with the brief being that this barn style house should be kept as industrial as possible. We wanted to create a grand entrance but not detract from the rest of the house. What we came up with was big hardwood posts and some nice rock gardens framing the entrance, a deck at the base, and we also added some stainless steel wire runners for the jasmine vine to eventually cover the sides and create a green roof. |

This job was a special one from the get go. Situated right on a tributary of the Mary River, the location was beautiful spot and just needed a natural path down to the river and fire area. We spent some time drawing lines and came up with a path that wouldn't detract from the surrounding nature, instead adding to the feel and drawing you down to the river. We used some flame slate crazy paving for the whole path and then added a retained rock area for parking under the deck along with some corrugated iron sheets to hide under the house. |

The brief was simple for this project; keep it low maintenance and useable. The guys at Coastal Pools had already been in and done a fantastic job of the pool coping, waterline tile and pebble, so we worked our way out from that point. There were a few key areas that had to be screened to disrupt the line of sight from the neighbours, so we created some beautiful green walls that will be a talking point for years to come. We completely gutted the existing gardens and paved areas and created a unique space. The old red brick paving gave way to some grey granite tiling leading to the pool, a vast array of new plantings, a raised seating area overlooking the pool, and irrigation throughout to keep everything growing nicely. |

When we showed up to this renovation we were greeted by plenty of challenges. The pool coping wasn't square, the old tiling was falling in all the wrong directions, the deck didn't meet up with the coping height at any point, and the list goes on. We started from the pool and made our way out. We laid a new coping and waterline tile, replaced the old rotten decking boards with larger boards after reinforcing the existing framing, and built a new block wall to replace the existing retainer. What we left was a beautiful, functional new space that will continue to be useable for a long time to come. |
